I started creating in textiles during college when I visited a farm and scored heaps of raw wool. I soon became obsessed with the quality of its curl and shine. I could not bring myself to wash or comb out the qualities of it I loved, so I decided to use as is and make some wigs. I got very interested in headdresses and costumes; making hats, masks, headdresses and wigs was my introduction to fibers. Since this inception I have gotten far more functional and traditional. I have learned how to sew very well, machine knit, as well as weave on a traditional loom. One product I have taken off with is the design and construction of Hoodlets (a reversible scarf and hood combination). I have done everything from knit, crochet, felt, sew or just rearrange to make these unique, one of a kind, wearable items. I have a lot of fun with textiles when my hands crave something soothing and crafty!!
Many of the wearables are for sale here.
